One of the methods used to translate our selected object, the architectural spikes, was collage, in order to recontextualise each kind of spike within the urban environment in which it would be found. Additionally, the collages are intended to build the image of a stud through the various users/audiences it engages with – manufacturers, clients, skateboarders, the general public. Each collage is layered with a 3D rendering, a technical drawing and photographs, paired with text taken directly from Kent Stainless’ online catalogue. The following are iterations for some of these products.
